Charge: Cottage Grove guy killed wife at night online murder plot

Bail ended up being set at $1 million Wednesday for a Cottage Grove guy whom authorities associated with a complex black web plot to fund their wife’s murder before he finally poisoned and shot her himself and staged her death as being a committing committing suicide.

Stephen Carl Allwine, 43, had been faced with second-degree murder that is intentional the Nov. 13, 2016, death of their spouse, Amy Louise Allwine, 43, at their 110th Street house. District Court Judge Susan Miles set Allwine’s bail at $1 million without conditions or $500,000 with conditions, including if he posts bail, remain in Minnesota and have only supervised contact with the Allwines’ 9-year-old son that he wear a GPS tracking device.
